OVERVIEW:
Each month, the main presenter shares insights for the first hour to the whole group. Then attendees break out into one of 3 session options, based on interest and self-determined skill level: Rookies, Minors and Majors. A facilitator will lead each breakout session with a different subject each month. Bring you guitar because these are interactive sessions. Get ready to learn, play and share. Main presenter runs from 7-8 PM; breakouts runs 8-9 PM. Some folks hang for a bit afterward for some informal licks and jamming. It's all fun.

Main Presentation: Beth Kille
Beth performs throughout the midwest in multiple ensembles. Old-school fans may remember her from the days with her rock band Clear Blue Betty (2002-2008). Now, you can find her as a soloist (just her and her guitar), as duo (with award-winning guitarist Michael Tully) and with the full Beth Kille Band (including Michael Mood on bass and Tony Kille on drums). She is a founding member of the acoustic-pop/Americana trio, Gin, Chocolate & Bottle Rockets (with Shawndell Marks and Jen Farley) who have won numerous awards for their tight three-part harmonies and also offer a special show called “Legends in Harmony: A Tribute The Trio (Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt).” Lastly she has a duo project with her songwriter friend Erik Kjelland (of The Mascot Theory) called Kerosene Kites.Kerosene Kites has released two holiday-themed albums (and two non-holiday records) so they tend to hit the road hard in December, but can also perform when it’s not cold and snowing.
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Knapton Music - 2475 Milton Ave, Janesville
Breakouts: For breakouts this month we are going to be splitting into groups to prepare for our in-house open mic in March. This is always a lot of fun. Either sign up to lead a group or join an existing one. Again, even if you can't make the March meeting you can still join a group to learn the songs! If you already know you want to lead a group let me know!
Please note that there is no pressure to play - you may learn a song with a group and not play with them in front of others if you wish.
See you there!
